Just found this site today and boy I love it!!! Check out my intro in the introduction section. As promised I dug up some old footage of a compact tank based on a 55gal plastic barrel. Once I moved into my new place I didn't have the space nor permission from the landlord to do a large tank so I found a comprise. I needed a place to hold bait that I trapped to go ice fishing with, plus maybe do a little aquaculture and hydroponics with some veggies. During the winter I kept upto 20dzn baitfish in the tank and during the summer tried to keep around a 1/2dzn tilapia to grow out and eat. As I soon found out Tilapia breed like crazy and they quickly were harvested and/or given away. Anyways it's been up and running 2yrs or so now and has been trouble free. With some great scrounging of parts I built it for under $40.
