I love this hobby and the benefits of being involved in it. There is only one thing and one thing alone that drives me totally NUTS NUTS NUTS
.
Many people who do not really know me, think I am a little over the top.
Yet, is not life in the living of it?
There is only one speed that I know for life and that is full out balls to the walls intense. With this in mind I decided 4 years ago that I would begin to lay a foundation for the subject of this thread.
A little about me for those who do not know me. I am the father of 8 kids, chef/owner of a food kiosk type restaurant(got real tired of doing a full service place so jumped when the chance came to take this), & in progress of setting up my fish company.
The subject of this thread revolves around one aspect of my fish company. At present I am about 75% complete in purchasing the needed tanks and supplies for setting up the hatchery/fish room, I have located and locked down a good supply line. Now comes the fun part to renovate and look for location. Yet, I digress.
Ok, so here is the passion of this thread.
It is 2 fold. A-Assisting people to get into the hobby without getting totally taken $ and advice wise. B-Run a rescue/rehome side to the business.
In my restaurant, I have had many times where the children of the university students literally drag their parents in from the hallway to look at the fishies. To this end there have been many a good discussions with the families and lots of observing the interaction between the kids and the parents.
In the course of the discussions, a common theme comes across. The parents would like very much to be able to get a tank for their kids but 2 things prevent them, the cost of getting set up and they are afraid of killing the fish. Both of these are things that I put my mind and passion toward solving.
I figured that it was time to make a few new threads, rather than bring back old ones that were suppose to be updated right after I made them.
Simply had a few sidebar issues which tried to sandbag me
. In the end of it all only took a 7 mth police investigation and the retaining of a lawyer to lock down the creator of the issue to the point that they are now eating crow
. Like they say DON'T MESS WITH THE CHEF!!!!
Ok this thread will be about documenting tank set ups that I place with people.
The first tank that I will feature here is going to my wifes cousin who used to have a guppy tank and one angel fish. I asked her last night if she wanted a tank and her eyes lit up and then she shared with me about how she loves angel fish. What is really funny is that I did a rehome of angel fish, guppies and a few other fish from a young guy moving the tank to be a gecko home, so I got the fish already for her.
Will post up some pictures this weekend as we get the tank set up for her.
