I'm planning to get a 500 gallons tank as soon as the summer comes and I was wondering what stock I could put in there. Here are some fishes that I have in mind...

- P. Bass
- Stingray
- Arowana
- Oscars

Please tell me what you think? And for filter, I still don't know what to used yet, maybe 2 FX5's and something else??? Any -/+ comments are welcome. Thanks in advanced.

Hmm how about:

1 x Black Aro
1 x Wild Fire Eel
2 x Wild Oscars
2 x Motoro rays

Hmm maybe do a shoal of 6-8 tinfoil barbs with an aro,1 oscar and a ray or two..Thatd be nice =D

If you get a a black or silver arowana you will want to grow it out first to at least 12" which shouldn't take long at all otherwise it will get beaten up rather easily. Baby arowana are big wimps. Oh and BTW a 96x48x30 is 600 gallons :D Careful with the Oscars though because they are big time bullies especially when in groups. I had 3 small O with my silver and they tortured my arowana endlessly until I removed 2 of them leaving one behind. Think of them as very rambunctious teenagers with no parents to keep them in line.

you should put one fully grown betta fish in that tank :headbang2hahah.!!
But seriously... the fishes that you have listed sounds perfect... and you should add some Dats too!
Just wondering.. What kind of aro, pbass, stingrays and oscars do you have in mind?

lima shovelnose catfish, a few black arowanas ($$$ though), a monster fire eel would be cool...bichirs as well.

that is a monster tank. forget the tinfoils and bala sharks and silly stuff like that. go with several pbass, black aro, a couple rays and gars.

I've always wanted to do a large betta tank. some rice plants in a half full aquarium with suspended lights would look awesome. A school of ottocats, a few male and bunch of female bettas and some snails. That's my vote.

Wow thanks everyone for the replied.

@Eoibio: i'm not really into eels..

@Gator: Thanks.. I just realized it is 599 gallons. As for the Arowana part, my friend have an empty 55 gallons maybe I could use it to grow the Arowana out.

@twk1: Dats? What are those. As for the other questions, I was thinking about a Black Arowana because I'm not sure but I think the Silver will outgrown the tank(?) As for P. Bass, Oscars and Stingrays I'm not sure yet but I guess I will keep any that I could get my hands on, I mean its hard to find P. Bass and Stingrays around here, I've never seen them in my LFS's.

@dbcb314: Gars huh? Aren't those get to like 4-5' long?

@FSM: Not really into catfishes, Birchirs are cool I guess.

@joworth: Yes thats what I was thinking, but how many is the question. =P

@bluereefer: hmmm, thanks but no thanks, I'm done with small fishes... I want to keep a few Monsters, maybe after I'm done/bored with it...

PUMP! Keep 'em coming please!
