i have 1 ck and she's about 8 inches...

ive had him for about 1 month now when she was first 6 inches

she's in my 30 gal tank right now and i was wondering if a 150 gallon tank would last her for life?

i was thinking a sandy bottom floor, some driftwood, some lants offcourse, and a couple rocks in there...

sound good for a 150 gallon tank just for her?

the dimensions are more important than the gallons (of course they are related) but you need to consider that the ck will get to be 3'+ if cared for properly so a tank with suffient turn around room is paramount. the 150 would be a great step up from the 30 gal but i personaly would recomend something over 200gal for life

there have been many threads discusing this if you search around.

p.s. does your ck have gender identity issues? you call it he, she , he...

ck's dont grow over 3 feet in aquariums. well they can...but most likely they dont grow that big unless you have a 1,000 gal tank...

how would a 161 gallon be?

would that be ok?

Sorry, it's just funny to me:ROFL: is you fish a [SIZE=-1] hermaphrodite? J/K

Anyhow, you fish would probably need something like a 6x2x2 tank min but I personally think 36 inch turning space is needed for a full grown CK. Just see how big your gets. A 150-180 gallon will probably do fine but.....I like to give my fish some swimming space.:nilly:

The biggest CK I've heard in captivity is over the 2' mark. It's rare, but it can happen. I think a 180g or more would be better, but a 150g should last for awhile.

when you say awhile, like 3-4 years?

They can reach 3 ft in captivity, and hit 2 feet with ease. I had a 22" one that I sold recently and my current one has gone from 16" to almost 20" in less than a year and is not showing any signs of slowing down. A 36" wide tank would be great, but a 2 ft wide tank is what I consider minimum.
