Friend called me last night, said his large fish ich he thought. I went over and looked, sure enough he is covered in salt all over his fins and tail. The weird thing is, it must be ich, he added a new fish a cpl weeks ago, but this is the only fish in the tank with any signs of it. It is his largest fish, but no catfish, plecos or other fish have it yet. Is this normal, in the past when I have seen ich it effected everyone in the tank, but this is seriously just one fish and its pretty bad on him.

Luckily it is an easy disease to cure. There are a number of treatment options. API super ich cure, raise the water temp...a few days it will be gone....and this is why you should always quaranteen fish before you add to your tank...lesson hopefully learned...

Uh thanks. The sick fish is not the new one, it is his oldest, thats why he was so upset. Just found it odd that for two days now one fish is covered in ich and no others in the tank are. Kind of odd is all

I know if one fish has it you treat the whole tank, but what is weird, and why I posted is because he has like 15 fish and only one of them has ich and it looks pretty severe on him. Just odd to see one fish covered, when it is the boss fish if his tank, and all others looking normal.

I always have used Quick Cure, and it has never left me down. Also safe for Catfish, plecos, scaleless fish, and tetras.
