So two of my severums have just 1 white spot each on their fins. Is this the start of ich? The spots look bigger than the ich I've dealt with before, and the fish have been diease free for over a month since the last new fish was added. Is it possible it's just marks from them pecking each other?

Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrites: 0ppm
Nitrates: 10ppm

I keep the tank at 79-80 degrees

It has been like that for a couple of days, hasn't spread yet. No signs of white spots on any of the other fish.

No signs of stress, no increased breathing, no abnormal swimming, no fin nipping or bite marks, and i haven't noticed them scraping against the decor.

I'm really really worried. I am NOT going to lose these fish.

Suggestions or advice?

I would gradually raise the temp to about 84 over the next couple days and add salt. It won't hurt. If the spot is gone in a couple of days then it may have just been a false alarm
