Hi all,

I am on the hunt for some US-native fish and I wonder if anybody has any suggestions for online stores(??). I knew about a couple some time ago, but it looks like they might have gone out of business.

I am in Wisconsin and shooting for species that are more-or-less representative for my area. I am working with a good-sized tank and hope to find several species of minnows and darters.

The prices a pretty high and he can't sex the fish since they are so small, but pictures of his adult specimens are spectacular, so just buy a group, so that you have the chances of getting both sexes, if you are willing to put in the money.

I used both of the above Business's (zimmermans and aquaculterstore/sach's) just this week, and they are both great. Sach's pricing includes shipping and zimmermans shipping is cheap, I got 5 fish (he gave me one free) and the shipping was $13. They are also both very nice honest people (Paul Sach's and Brian Zimmerman) and will answer any questions you have.

great invention called a fishing pole or bait nets, just sayin'

Zimmermans fish and Sachs Aquaculture are great.....another good one if you dont mind picking it up yourself in Wisconsin is BTdarters, and the one I use the most is Jonahs aquarium (good selection and prices).

One good thing about buying from Sachs Aquaculture, Zimmermansfish and Jonahs Aquarium is that they guarantee all their fish and you can buy NA natives that are not native to your area.....in my area we dont have Pumkinseeds, Warmouths or any pygmy Sunfish species not even the Bluespotted or BLackbanded sunnies; these online LFS's give me a chance to own one of these without paying hundreds in transportation and accomodations.

Does anyone know somewhere where they have 4in pickerels? Redfin or grass, either one.
