for soem reason I am not seeing 8 x 4 x 6 feet dimension.

Overall height of tank and stand is 9 feet. and 3ft. tall stand

Okay, so the height of the tank is 6 ft.

But do you see an 8 x 4 ft footprint ?

It's 8x4 footprint. Look at the stand. It does look like two square stands next to each other.

 Good one John!

The harder part is talking the wife into letting me keep a mermaid...... "Honey, it's just a part of the hobby!"
I'm sure I can talk my wife into letting me keep a mermaid, but I don't think I can talk her into letting me go clean the tank :grinno: It's like "Look but don't touch!" :D

What would you feed a mermaid?? Weenies:ROFL:

dims are def not ideal, but i'd make the guy an offer if i was in the area.

with a shorter stand and the right filter/plumbing set up it would make a nice tank.

 "i'd make the guy an offer..." The price is not good enough? :grinno:

Ditto, I totally agree. :)

Personally, I'm not all that crazy about tall tanks (too hard to clean/gravel vac. etc.)... but I have seen some really nice looking high tanks with a perception of "depth". Really depends how it's set up.

Plus for that price and with stand... I wouldn't complain. In the past, I've paid almost that same amount just for movers... to move & tranport a tank only half that size.

I love the comments: " It’s not going to fit in your home, apartment, or garage," and "It won't be cheap." I can just hear the tone with which it's being said. It's almost like, "I dare you to own this aquarium."
