So I traded in all my adult Africans today:
3 Electric Blue Males
1 Electric Blue Female
1 Red Zebra
1 Yellow Lab Male
1 Yellow Lab Female
8 Lab / Scofoli Hybrid

I decided to turn my 75 into a lab / electric fry tank. With 24 lab fry and 7 blues this is what my tank looks like now.
I still have 3 loaches, 1 royal pleco and 1 green phantom pleco but everything else is fry.

I then have 25 electric fry in my 29 gallon...as soon as they are of any size I'll move them to the 75.

Not too sure what I'm going to do then...definately not going to breed any other fish for a while.

Enjoy...

Looks pretty cool :)

One thing though, i did this about 6 months ago in my 55 gallon, and though i would have a good year before they started breeding again - WRONG. Some that were under 1" 6 months ago are now 3 or 4" long and breeding. Oh well. So, be warned that they grow (and breed) really fast, even after you remove the adults ;)

i like how fry tanks looks when i pickup my cichlids usely i try to get them at about less then 1 inch to see them grow and just whole bbunch of lil cichlids with amazing color looks great...

I'll admit I'm worried about that too, hopefully I can get a decent trade in value for the 40 + fry once they are of decent size. I'm thinking of changing completely to a tank with some other type of fish. Just not sure..the only thing I know is that I love having tanks but am anxious to see what else is out there.

Thanks for all the comments...

I'm doing this with a 55 next weekend. I have fry in a 20 gallon long and a tub. Gonna gut my 55, pull the gravel and just keep a large sponge filter, some clay pots and a couple of pieces of wood. Make large water changes a breeze....I'll be housing "zebra obliquidens" and J. Transcriptus...
