I have been out of the game for over a year now. ( we had a baby and it took up most of my free fish time) anywho. The wife finally let me back into the fish game, i am currently trying to stock a 600 gallon tank. I was planning on getting some fish from Motor City Cichlids since he was basically a 20 min drive away from me. But now hes no where to be found? SO now im trying to find a new breeder whos either in Michigan or southern ontario. I Havent decided yet. But I need a breeder who has, Doviis, Jags, Umbees, Black Nastys, beanies etc. by no means am I sticking all of these fish in the same tank just looking for options.

I know rapps has all of these fish i want, but it would probably cost me a mortgage payment just to get them here since i live in canda

any help would be greatly apprecieated. Does anyone in ontario ever do group orders from rapps?

Danny (Tiny) changed the name of "Motor City Cichlids" to "TNT Cichlids" (or something very similar)...

Last I checked he advertised on waterwoves.com forum...

doesnt seem like they are doing to much buisness anymore, they havent had an updated stock list in months.

I had a phone number for him at one point... Wednesday I plan on digging through some boxes which may contain it. If I stumble across it I'll let you know...

I have a 6-7" NGT dat sitting right across the detroit river in Windsor if you're interested in a dat. Also lots of small kigomas.

Isn't below water in Canada? I'm not certain what he has in the way of stock but its worth checking in to. I get stocklists from him all the time and he has some amazing fish. I've always wanted to order from him but he's in Canada and shipping would be expensive here to the states.

I am an ex-Michigan cichlid lover.

I don't know if they have gotten more into the New World game, but Wet Thumb Aquatics in St. Claire Shores used to have a phenomenal selection (though mostly Africans). And by used to, I mean like 14 years ago.

What process do you have to go through to drive fish across the border?

You probably could get an order from Rapps shipped to somewhere near the border (US side), drive over & pick them up, claim them at customs, pay tax and bring them home. That's what MDH, friends and myself have done here in NB.

You could also talk to Spencer Jack (http://cichlaholic.com/lists.html), as he's got beani, dovii and haitiensis listed on his stocklist right now.
