Anyone here from Ontario know the laws about keeping natives. I know all the fishing regulations because I fish, but never thought about keeping a native because I always knew it was illegal. I heard recently though you can get some sort of permit to keep them. Anyone know the rules for that and how to get one??? I was only planning on keeping some sunfish, like longears, pumpkinseed and bluegills. Perhaps some perch too.

I think it would be safe to assume that as long as they are not a protected species / and that you do not need a fishing licence / permit to fish them you are fine.........and if you do need a fishing permit or "stamp" as it is called down here, who can tell you what you can or cannot do with the fish that you do catch legally (and in season!!!!).........just dont go over the limit so as to prevent any possible run ins with the local fish and game people....:D
