Today I looked in my 10 gallon tank with my 4 baby p's in it and found that I only had 3. My bro and I looked for 5 minutes cuz I couldnt believe that my little p's would have eaten another one. I couldnt find it so i immediatly moved the 3 into my 55 gallon tank. I then went the pet store and bought some mollies and guppies for breeder feeders and also picked up 2 new baby reds. I got 2 incase one got eaten again. I wanted to end up with 4. When I get home I put my mollies and guppies in my 10 gallon tank and found my missing red. So now I have 6 little baby red bellies in my 55 gallon tank. OOPS!!!!!!!!!! So now I will grow them out until like 5-6 inches and sell a couple or have to upgrade to a bigger tank haha. I felt really dumb after looking for like 5 minutes and not finding it then coming home and finding it right away haha.:nilly:If I decide to keep them all how big of a tank will I need and when shoud I upgrade?

i'd go with a 125 just because it'll really open up your options for the future, it'll also comfortably fit at least 6 reds for life, more if you decide that you wanna take on an overcrowded tank.

oh, and you'll probably wanna upgrade in just a few months, the sooner the better. it's really up to you tho, just keep an eye on them.

Lets say i was to keep like 3 or 4 in my 55 till i graduate college, like 3 years, would they be fine until then?

you'll graduate college in 3 years?
1 piranha would be fine in a 55 gallon but not 3 or 4..

Well i think if one would be ok then 3 would be ok because that would be almost 20 gallons a fish.

mmm i guess.. but i think it'd be cramped.. in there.. cuz of the dimensions of a common 55 gallon.... 12 inches wide isn't a lot of turning room for an 8+inch piranha..
