Dear Mr.,

It has probably been well over 10 years since I went to your house. I don't remember exactly where you lived at the time, but it was somewhere in northern Illinois. I was going with my father who was, at the time, a loan officer. He went to your house on his second visit to try and save you money by re-financing your home. He asked you if he could bring me with on his next trip, and you were all for it.

I came to your house with my father and was totally wowed by the fact that you had an entire HUGE greenhouse built permenantly attached by a door to the side of your home. I mean, I saw an eagle in your house, flying around! You had a bunch of huge trees, and I mean you even had squirrels running around and all that.

Then you showed me your shark (I think it was a nurse shark?) and I was totally amazed. Mind you, I was like 12 or something, but still really appreciated how absolutely stunning your home was. It was MONSTER, and I felt that way well before you showed me the best part....

Once I saw you throw a live mouse into a massive tank full of some kind of feroceous preditory fish (I think they were piranha, but don't quote me), I was hooked. I still haven't recovered from seeing that, and here I am building a 450 gallon indoor tanquarium, setting up a 360 gallon wide and working on perfecting the custom filter system for my 125 gallon tank.

I figured if I would find you anywhere, I might just have some slim chance of finding you here. If anyone on this site knows of someone like this, forward this to them please!

If you are out there, thanks for being such an inspiration; we should hang out some time! Email me at abortedsoul@gmail.com, and we'll talk!

Yeah, me too! I've never gotten over how cool his setup was. I figured that there was some remote chance that he would still be into monster fish, and that he may have found his way onto here. If anyone knows this guy, get us in touch!

tiny little... bump. :D

Sounds like this guy and his magic house ran into Chris Hanson a few times in his life.

Please explain.

i hope you find him. its cool that you remember your beginning into fishkeeping. i can never see my mentor again cos he died of a heart attack, he built my first 2ft tank and it was set up and stocked on xmas day for me getting up when i was about 6 or so.
so i really hope you get a chance speak with him again unlike me.

Sorry to hear about that; I hope I find him, too.
