Open tank what to get

Have an open 125 trying to think what to put in it. Thinking either jag or midas/red devil/ midevil. Thoughts?
 
Some of my favorites that I've been looking at- loiselle's, synspilum, jags, trimac, carpintis. Those are all large so you wouldn't prob put much else other than one or two of those with maybe a few smaller cichlids that were tough enough. I think the loiselle's and jags may not put up with tank mates at all in a 125 but I don't know for sure. If you want more then one or two big guys look at a more peaceful set up with a Green terror, severums, oscars, and similar disposition fish. Depending one which ones you go with you could probably have a few together.
 
I love the Green Terror, so I will always advocate for that. They are mean, but there are plenty of other cichlids and dithers that can live peacefully with them.

I've never owned Jags, but they look awesome to me - please keep us posted!

unrelated note...How bout a Fahaka Puffer!
 
Just to clarify on my above message, I wouldn't add like multiple Oscars with a GT and Severums in a 125 but you could have a few more peaceful SA for sure as opposed to most CA fish which would likely be 1 or 2 fish in a tank that size.
 
Went with amphilophus can't beat them for personality. Hopefully a couple pair up of not I'm cool with dedicating it to a single specimen. Couple midevils and a couple A. Flaveolus
 
Parachromis are awesome bit I've been there done that some are outgoing and some are hiders for life
