open wound on large fish ??

My 22" ir shark has a ?cut? on his side.... Its about 1 1/2" long

It looks like a stab wound from a knife... Its not super deep, but I can see pink flesh and some daker ?blood? In it


My best guess is he snagged on the corner of my HOB overflow box ...

I will try and get a picture, but in the meantime is there anything I should do? There is already some salt in the water but that's it

I'd salt the hell out of the tank.. And add a mix of Milafix/Pimafix.

It's allways worked for me. GL
 
eee that sucks. If you have a quarantine tank it would probably be good to move him there and medicate with melafix (bottle says for open wounds). I havent used any antibiotics so cant really recommend any.
 
Any updates Justin? The mila/pima is good stuff. It's all natural it's been in all my tanks with all the fish you know about. It's the best med in the game. imo
