Is there any agency to complain to about fish kept in deplorable conditions like there are other animals. Local store has a "show tank" with an aro, 14-16 inches, a CK, 16-18 inches, and a lungfish at least two feet long. The front glass has so much algae that it is hard to see the fish. But they have cute names like Mongo and Mushy. Best part, the tank is a 75 gallon max, the fish are not for sale and this is there home for life. Sorry had to vent, don't feel any better about it but at least got to tell someone about it.

I would just have a talk with the owner of the store. Explain how You feel about it and how it makes His/Her store look bad. Chances are, if you feel this way about it, so do outhers. No one has just expressed their thoughts to the owner Might be surprised how quickly that tank gets changed around.

Yeah then offer to "take the fish off their hands so the fish have a better home."
