it my first time breeding fish, here is my set up. what do you guys think, will it work. i did my research and tis is what i came up with it.
the rock and plant makes a wall so that the male dosent have a eye view of the whole tank (gives the female some alone time). the air stone creats a wall of bubble and gives the egg some oxygen. theres a divider between both the male and the female(reduce fighting). it has an gap at the bottom about 1/2", so the male can fertalize the eggs. the flat rock is where the female will deposit her eggs.

one more thing is this a male or female? lfs told me it was a male, what kind of flower horn too, they just got a new batch of flower horn from Asia, which is this little guy. he/she is about 4", at what size do they start breeding?

They will start breeding at the size he is...

when the female and male get used tp being in the tank together u take the barrier out though, or elese the eggs won't be properly fertilezed. its ideal to cut a whole in the barrier the size only the female can fit in and not the male, so if they fight she has a retreat

Nice set up, however the whole plate or rock half covered by divider like you have there does not work to well! It can work but most attepts will end in failure. It is better to just take you chances and watch the two fish. You will always take some licks when attepting to breed, but it is worth it in the long run. Keep the two fish divided for a few days and then try to introduce them. This works well at night with the lights off just some fyi for you hope I helped?
