Operation pup tank

Still under construction please excuse the duck tape holding the UV unit in place lol. Top tank will contain pups/grow outs and be fed by the sump of the main tank via a 500 gph pump which will then drain into the bottom tank which will be a planted setup that will drain back into a filter sock in the main sump. Both tanks have holes for 1" bulkheads already drilled and are 36"x18"

i have pretty much the same setup except with a 90 gallon. works great! looking good, cant wait to see it all setup! and better yet, with pups in it!
 
Going to run seperate filters on the other tanks so you have the ability to run them independent of the main system? That way they could be used as QT as well.....
 
Yup, gonna run an ac70 on the top with a ball valve to the bottom tank that way I can just switch the 500 gph pump to the bottom tank and take the top off the loop

Thanks guys, I need to paint that pink insulation too it works great though it is way warmer in my stand than in the room
 
its not a show tank without the duck tape. also i see the hole in the bottom tank but where is the hole drilled in the top tank? hope its not on the bottom.
 
Nope its on the right side, I did it that way to make sure the water from the top tank will have to pass through the whole bottom tank before exiting
