This is a female FH which i got it 1 week ago. I was informed by the shop owner that it lay eggs before, not sure if it is still able to lay eggs.

I have this FH since the beginning of October. I believed it is still small to determine the gender of it, but i am guessing it's a male. (is it right to guess that it's male since the kok on the head is big?)

As i am still very new to FH, can i seek your kind opinion on what breed are they too? I have tried removing the separator between them and both of them lip lock for a minute or so on 2 occasion:

1st) 1-2 piece of scale drop from the 'male'. I immediately separate them.
2nd) Both of them just keeps lip-locking till i stepped in to remove them. Afraid that the male might gets hurt again in the process.

It is safe to let them to continue lip-locking? or should i remove them till the 'male' gets bigger in size?

Appreciate all feedback! :)

Update: I removed the divider last night and my 2 FH just went lip-biting each other again. I can see that the male is hurt in the process and immediately moved in to seprate them after 1-2 minutes.

When i woke up this morning, I saw that the Female FH has lay eggs in her own partition. What should i do now?

Very slim chance male fertilized eggs from his side of the divider. Wait and see. If eggs turn solid white, I'd remove them before they turn fuzzy. Try again.

Hi fisheatfish, thank you for the reply. I feel chances are slim for this batch of eggs, shall wait and see how things goes.

Thank you for the reply :)
