A friend of mines recently purchased a used 220g acrylic tank, 7x2x2
Do you think this tank would be sufficiently filtered with 2 FX5's?
The FX5's would be filled with only biological media, ie ceramic rings, etc.
Inhabitants would be a couple of small rays 5-6" and a silver arowana.
25-30% water change once/week.

This tank is an upgrade from a 180g, where 1 FX5 and a 36"(L) wet/dry was used, but he's getting tired of the noise from the wet/dry and wants to use 2 FX5's instead.

Thanks!

The FX5 would be fine overal, but you need to add two things.

1. Mechanical filtration
2. More water changes. Rays require pristine water. 30% per week probably won't cut it.

2 x fx5's on that size tank is really good. I suggest using the at least one blue pad or some filter floss on top of the biological media in one of the media baskets in both the filters.
