Hey guys. I have a different dilema then usual. I can get a 65 long 48x18x17 for 300 shipped or a 75 long 48x18x21 for 555 both are acrylic with the lids included in price. So here is the delema. I dont know if two me it is worth coffing up double the money for 4 extra inches in highth. The tank is only going to house my 6 inch pair of jd's and thats it. It is oviously big enough the length and the width is all i am concerned about. I have a couple 75's allready. If i diddnt break my 125 a couple weeks ago i wouldnt need a new tank for them. Any ways my quistion is to my fellow fish heads on here that has shallower tanks. Do you like the shallower tanks just as much or wish you had of spent the extra cash and got a standard 75 or what ever the case may be. As in a 125 instead of a 100 gallon or whater. Just the comparison of the same size foot print but shallower not higher. Not wanting a 125 instead of a 75. the only reason i am having this dilema is because i have never bought a tank bigger then a breeder tank or 40 long or something this shallow. So your input and exspereince with this size 65 to a standard 75 would be great. Thanks for your time as usuall guys.

Sincerely,

Jeff

I like my ladies short and fat. The lower cost of owning one is just a bonus.

id say 75 Gallon..those 4 inches are nice to have for the JD's..even though its fine with the 65..but im sure others will say the same about the 4 inches are nice to have..but it might not be necessary..exactly personally id do the 75Gallon..

Ya i know the extra four inches would be nice. I can get a 75 at petsmart for 200 that is glass. Trying to go acrylic from now on. Sence i broke my 125 sick of glass tanks. Just not know if its worth double the price. So my main quistion is has any one gone for the shorter one and regreted it ya know. Thanks as usuall for the input guys

I stand corrected. I read this post wrong before. I thought you said the lower cost of maintaing is just a bonus. Not the lower cost of owning. You like the lower shorter tanks. I have thought about buying shorter 16 or 17 inch tanks before but they were different foot print. One was a 3x3x16 was going to make a low tank only about a foot of the ground with over ohf like a little pound style. Tottally different idea im going for on this one thow. Thanks again. And i know it is all about personell preference as alot will say. But if i measure one of my 75's one more time taking 4 inches of im going to hit my self with a shovel. So thats why im asking you fish freaks your exsperience with this size 65 cuzz i have never bought one of these specific size tanks
