Opinions on ID

Went to a lfs today and found this nice male Vieja @ 5-6 inches. Owners werent sure what it was. But colors were outstanding especially for its size. IMO
Offered them 20 bucks for it, and it was mine.
I am pretty positive on ID, just want to verify it with my fellow MFKers.

very nice looking fish that I would say is bifasciatus :) just be aware though that with vieja/paratheraps that come from LFS have a high rate of being hybrid...unless you know exactly where the fish came from, which obviously you don't because the lfs didn't even know what it was, then there's always that chance. I see mostly bifasc though, imo.

Bifa is exactly what I thought. I am aware of the possibilities of the hybrids.
But I did not see any signs of it and going by patterns and colors I don't believe it is. :) But it does not matter. I am not breeding.:)

yeah I don't really see anything that screams hybrid about it...just wanted to throw out that possibility as more of a disclaimer than anything...lol

definitely a nice looking fish though, that's for sure :headbang2
