I have a 125 with two Oscars around 10" I want to put a couple of other fish in it. I have two severums and a raphael catfish that will go in it once they grow out their current tank. I'm thinking maybe some bichirs. a rope fish would be cool also. Possibly a bala shark, but I'm not sure if I can keep one for life. The footprint is 18"x6'. Any thoughts on these fish?
This is the tank.

All of those things you want would work with Oscars as long as they are big enough to not go into the Oscars mouth.

What I've found, if the Oscar even thinks it can eat another fish (or anything for that matter) it will. If your Oscar is 10 inches then you want to be fully grown fish or near to. I have a load of cats with mine, (pictus and synos) which are great.

okay, i don't know much about bala sharks, how big do they get? from what i found around 12" is this correct? also what about a lima shovelnose? would it work well with my Oscars?

Balas do reach upwards of 12", but do best in groups of 3+

If you we're gonna do balas, I'd look at flagtails, much more color and grow to the same size.
