So Im looking at purigen for a planted sulawesi tank and I like the idea a lot. I understand the chemistry behind it and its great that is regenerable. Im just looking for some user input as I looked for reviews and couldn't find any. I looked for threads but couldn't find any on this particular topic. Is it useful for filtration in a 10 g planted tank, or is it just overkill?

Thanks!

I love the stuff. I started using it years ago on several salt setups and haven't stopped using it since. It's probably not really necessary in most setups, but it does help with tannins a bit and rally limes to go after dissolved organics.

My nitrates have always been a bit lower using it than without ironically. Seems to absorb a lot of things before they get a chance to break down.

I have one bag thats probably 5 years old and still regenerates and works great.

I'm a fan of it, I use the 100ml pre packaged bags in all of my tanks, 1 in each except the 125 which has 2. Definitely does a nice job of polishing the water.
