Opinions on Rena XP4

I know that FX5 is all the craze. But I can get a great deal on a Rena XP4. They normally sell for $280 retail, but I was at Petsmart(for dog food) and they were getting rid of some of there aquarium equipment. It was half off plus tax so it would run me $150. I know FX5 is about $50 on ebay, but will this Rena XP4 be good enough? Good for 265 gallons.

My current setup 125 long, stocked with sliver aro, 2 retic rays, 4 severums. 3 Emperor 400 and 2 Fluval 404. I am looking to upgrade to a 220 in the future. I was thinking about running 2 XP4 and the 3 400s or 2 FX5 and 3 400s.

Should I buy this XP4 as an investment to the future?
I just wanna know you guys opinion on the XP4

Wish they had a half off or any deals like that around here. Our petsmart while being one of the cleanest I have ever seen is actually really expensive.

Id go for it thats a damn good deal.
 
I have an FX5 and XP4! and I tell you my XP4 is 110% better than the FX5....thats my own opinion....some will differ...plus you can put alot of media in the XP4..
 
When I set up my 150 gallon tank I used a single Filstar XP3 but it did'nt take long for me to realize it was'nt nearly enough filtration. I added an addition XP3 and have not had any filtration problems since. Rule of thumb use twice as much as recommended. I have not used the XP4 but I feel it goes the same for your 265 gallon tank, use 2 instead of one, can never have too much filtration especially for larger fish.
 
Wow someone actually likes the the XP4 over the FX5, okay I think I am sold. I am gonna go pick it up tomorrow. Unless someone has something bad to say.
 
$280 retail? That's insane! They sell for $210 retail here, and I'm in Canada. I bought one off ebay and just set it up today, works great so far.
