4 tanks (800 gallons total) all in one filtration system with about 800 pounds of live rock in all. A top fathom 8a skimmer (rated to 1000 gallons).
Was considering adding a small hayward pool sand filter that uses 100 pounds of sand. I like the pool filters because it has a back flush valve and you dont need to take it offline to clean it or do maintainance.
Question: Will the sand filter help or do more harm. I am not worried about the nitrate factory stories I hear as I plan on doing back flushes regularly.
