I added some white gravel to the solid black that I originally had. I also added some driftwood. The wife loves the white gravel and I am still up in the air about it. I of course had to throw in some ray pics, especially of my female triple spot motoro.
Black sand, with about a Quarter as many white pebbles you have there, would look awesome imo. Especially if you were keeping Leopoldi Stingray.
but Im curious if you are worried at all about waste building up in the gravel? Or do you syphon that frequently? .. I set up most my tanks for functionality but thats why your tank looks way better and would be much nicer inside a living room
I do a water change every 3 days and siphon the gravel every 6 days. Usually don't get a lot of solid waste out of the gravel. The rays are constantly moving it around and digging in it. I have a lot of current at the gravel level so most of the waste ends up in the filter.
