Wet/dry is a good way to go, you can increase your water volume with a sump which cuts down on the stress of the fish between water changes. How expenseive are a couple of canister filters anyways?? I would think your spending the same on a couple of canisters as a good size sump.

eheim canister or wet/dry

I have a 120 with large SA/CA cichlids. I'm running 2 Ehiem ProII 2028's and an AC110. Lots of filtration. Water is always crystal clear, and I have my tank fairly packed.
