I'm planning on doing a 60gallon (30X31X15) open top planted tank and was curious if a pair of bristlenose plecos would do alright in this tank? Only other fish will be tetra's. I'm mainly worried about the openness of the tank, not sure if they're jumpers or not.

My brother once had a bristlenose jump out but that was only because his planted tank went out of check and his co2 got to high. Anyways. As long as they have hiding places they'll stay primarily on the bottom.

My wife has 5 Albino Bristlenoses in a heavily planted 29 and they almost never go above halfway up. I think they went above twice in the 8 months she has owned them.

No a bristle nosed will not be a problem in that tank. I had a breeding pair with about 50 babies of several generations in a 60 gallon species tank similar to yours and they very rarely ventured above the halfway point of the tank like pendejo said.

My lfs owner has 7 BN plecos in a 130 community with an open top, and never has one ever jumped out.
