Long story short. 220gallon popped a leak and i was forced to move my catfish and pacu to a 300gal stock tank.

My 220 had a diseae run its course from a new arrival RTC that eventually died. The disease leaves the fish with red spots and cloudy/ bloody eyes..

The Red sores begin when water quality begins to decrease even slightly. I'm talking 0.25- 1ppm will cause problems. 4 weeks had passed and I had only lost 1 fish. I had'nt seen disease for 4 straight weeks. When my tank leaked I moved the catfish to the 300gal stock tank.

And the **** hit the fan. I immediatly 2-3 days after moving, I saw disease in 2 catfish. I hit the 300gal with 75% w/c twice a day not knowing what was causing the problem. Since which I lost 2 catfish from disease. The second of the 2 held onto life for 4 days. He suffered greatly, I came out after work to see him just looking even more awful. I put him out of his misery.

This is one of the most devastating collection of events i've dealt with fish related and im tempted to throw in the towel and give up all together. I'm not used to animals dieing and It's weighing its toll on me greatly.

The pictures below are of the fish that was not dead. He was suffering and I couldn't see him like that any more. His eyes were cloudy and capped with blood.

WHAT IS THIS DISEASE

- Was introduced from the recent fish I got
- Lay's dormant for extended periods of time
- Seem's to only effect the RTC in my tank
- Was previously treated with aquarium salt and heavy WC's

that really bad, can't you search in phonebooks for a fishdoctor???
send pm

test the water for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrate. Also, test the pH of the water. Low pH could be a cause of red burns. Low pH means that the water is too acidic

I've performed so many waterchanges the water parameters (ammonia nitrite nitrate) are 0. I tested last night and this morning
