What is the optimal % to change per day with a drip system? I have a 450 and 400 set up to a drip system - I have it set so it’s changing about 80 gallons per day on both.

Any recommendations for how much I should be changing a day?

thanks.

Won’t that number really be predicated by your stock list and it’s impact on nitrates? I imagine that rate will vary per tank.
This is true. I don’t know the exact gph on my 1100 but I try to get it as low as possible. Check nitrates once a week or so and adjust flow accordingly.

I agree with The Morning, since all tanks are different, because of different stocking levels, the use of or non-use of plants, and what type filtration used, there is not really a one size fits all drip rate.
I base my drip rate on amount of nitrates produced by the stock (12 x 6-7" cichlids, a couple 4" tetras, and a 7" pleco). I want nitrate to remain as close to 0 as possible, and with my current 20-30 gallon per day drip rate on the 180 gal, I get pretty close to zero (the API test usually read 0-5ppm)
I also have plenty of aquatic and terrestrial vegetations helping to suck nitrates up,
