I have a 90g the standard 4' size. I current am running a Rena xp2 and a ac110. My question is how should set them so that I optimize the filtration on my tank? Should the outlet of the canister be on the same side as the ac110 with the inlet of the canister on the opposite side of the tank, or is the a better set up?

I would have the OUTFLOW of the canister on the farthest point opposite the hob pointing AT the hob.. I would have the INTAKE slightly closer to the hob...you might want to try a powerhead on the same end of the tank as the hob with the output angled towards the front of the other side of the tank ,creating a circular flow

On my 90's I have the AC 110 on the right hand side of the tank with the intake near the center of the tank and my Fluval 406 on the left side of the tank with outflow near the center. The AC-110 has a long pick up tube about 2 inches from the gravel and the 406 is about halfway down from the top. I then have a Maxi-Jet 9100 Powerhead in the left upper corner with a sponge filter on it. I have the airetion turned on a bit instead of using a air stone in the tank and it's pointed at the right front corner of the tank.
