I'm brand new to Pikes and want to know, what would be some good tank mates for a Belly Crawler in a 75 gal tank? any help would be awesome. I'm REALLY wanting to get a pike and take care of them right, so please HBO(Help a Brother Out).
Right now I have mine in a 220g with a c. johanna, c. sveni, p. managuense, a. rivulatus(gold saum), and a ZZ flowerhorn. The only fish he doesn't get along with is the c. sveni. They hate each other. Other than that, he does fine. Give it plenty of places to hide on the bottom of the tank and it will do fine with pretty much any SA/CA mix.
cool thx. I figure start with a belly crawler and then move up to some of the cooler Pikes like sveni, johanna. When I can afford bigger tanks. I'll get some pics up of him here soon. I'm pretty sure he's a belly crawler though.
pikes don't work we'll at all with other pikes alot of the time some people do it and don't have a problem (??magic??)
In a 75 you could try alot of differn't pike most wouldn't out grow that tank but if you all ready have a bely crawler i would go for other cichlids mabye some smaller catfish ummm really any fish thats not really aggressive and won't eat your pike or vice versa that centopoma or spotted bush fish in your avatar would be a good example of a fish that would work

As I stated above, my cr. sp. "Belly Crawler" and cr. Sveni HATE each other. The only reason that one of them isn't dead already is because the tank is large (220g) and they are relatively small, < 5". Once my cr. sp. 'Xingu I' grows out in the 75g, I'm swapping his place with the "Belly Crawler". The BC will be a better fit in the 75 and the three pikes that will live in the 220g will all be large.Your BC will be perfect for your 75. Keep him with some Firemouths or Ctenopoma or something else relatively small and less aggressive.
Sweet thanx. I was wondering if my Leopard Bushfish would work with him. Yeah it's my first decent sized tank first thing I got it, I knew I wanted a pike. Thanx for all the info and I'll definetly post some pics of up here in the next day or 2.
