I have been looking and going to alot of fish stores for a gray or white oranda. I went to the petsmart in corona and all their fish had ick... ive been to the petsmarts in San Bernardino and eastvale which were extremely clean and had healthy fish. This one was terrible. But I saw the gray oranda and felt terrible. I bought him and bought a temporary 2.5 gallon so I could quarantine it. Does it look like hes sick because he has what looks like orange scales? It doesnt look like its a cut. When she got him into the net she grabbed its body and put him in the bag -.- I argued with her that its not possible for it to turn orange.... any advice? Hes swimming around actively in the bag. I dont know how to right the pictures. ..

I think the orange color is just his natural color. Most chocolate colored Goldie's will fade to orange or white from what I experience. Perhaps a in tank photo may help.

Also I use Rubbermaid bins from target($7 and about 15gal)for quarantine if you want something cheap. I use a sponge filter and treat them in the garage before adding to display. I lost a lot of Goldie's from lack of quarantine. Especially when I was going out every weekend to find that perfect one. Anyhow good luck with you Goldie.
