Hi, my crayfish molted a few weeks ago. He looked fine afterward, and was hiding between some plants. Then, I couldn't find him in the plants. He cant crawl out; its impossible. The only place he could be is behind this rock. Do you think he's dead, or has just been hiding under a rock for weeks?

Ok. The only reason that I didn't do that is because it's my fishes favorite rock to hide behind. Don't want to stress them.

He crawled out. Check the dark areas around the tank, that or he got eaten when he was soft and creamy.

Impossible for him to have crawled out....the closest thing to the substrate is the heater, which is 5''-6'' off the substrate.

crayfish can swim. 5-6 inches is nothing. They can also climb the silicone sealant in the tank. They can always get out.

If I had know that, I wouldn't have gotten him.
