My managuense have recently had another batch of eggs. Most are a brownish color like they are supposed to be and there a couple of white ones because they weren't fertilized. But now I notice about 10 orange eggs, all far apart. There weren't any yesterday either, only today. I'm not new to breeding, but have never seen orange eggs. Is it anything to be worried about? Are they possibly deformed, are they some type of morph like albino or xanthic?

Thanks in advance.

idk bump so someone can answer

Are the orange eggs lined up with the manguense eggs????Could these "orange" eggs be from another fish pair in the tank?????

I just searched "xanthic" and this thread popped up...I realized I didn't respond to any of you. lol I had pics, but I'm not sure if I do anymore, I'll try to dig them up. The orange eggs were lined up with the others and were fertilized.
This question was actually answered by Oddball whom I pm'ed a day after no replies. If my memory serves, the eggs were orange simply because of the parents diet. Morphs don't have different color eggs.
The eggs hatched, but I think the orange ones were eaten along with the whites, I can't be 100% sure though because there were a few wigglers in the tank when I got home and the other eggs were just hatching. Maybe those eggs hatched first?? But I think they were picked off. From the batch there was one deformed fry, it had an arched back and a shorter dorsal fin than the others. I doubt it came from an orange egg. I culled the deformed fry as I do with any other deformity I occasionally run into.
