The picture is hard to tell, try turning off your flash.

no its not dyed its just a color morph of oscar, an easy way to tell if the fish is dyed is by seeing what kind of base color it has in the beginning, they can only dye albino oscars so since this one has darker base skin color it can be dyed, and dyed fish are usually pretty easy to tell since it will have a base white color and then dyed either blue or pink are the most common

usually albino fish get dyed! also judging by how great that o looks i dont think he's dyed, they usuallylook less healthy

The PetSmart in Sheboygan WI, has dark orange/red Oscars also. Even a small one under 3" has really dark vibrant color, and looks like it's solid colored too, no other pattern or color on it. Very pretty if they stay that way.:D

I remember I was excited when I bought my red O because I thought a REd fish awesome, Then as he grew he turned orange. I was a little sad but he is my favorite fish.

Congrats on the O I am sure he/she will be a joy to you like mine is for me. Can't miss a chance to show mine to a fellow O lover.

Wow thanks for all the help guys. I also thought that albino oscars were usually dyed. I'll try to get some more pics of him on a real camera. That Oscar looks great! I hope mine turns out like that!
