My LFS has a pleco they call "orange spotted pleco" which I haven't really heard of. It really does look neat and I probably will grab one, but it looks similar to a regular sailfin despite the separations of spots (so it actually looks spotted, not all trippy like regular sailfins) and is sort of orange-like. Is this an actually species? if you guys have one can u post a pic?

Did they list an L number? Most orange plecos are tiger striped.

nope no L numbers... and i couldnt take pictures cuz i didnt have a camera nd my phone sucks. it was definitely spotted (not perfectly round spots)

The only thing I can tell you without a pic is to go to planetcatfish.com and try and find him on there. Is tedious and sucks but its the only option without an L number or a pic.

It's most likely LDA31 Panaque Albomaculatus aka "Orange spotted panaque." Stays relatively small for a panaque, maxing out around 5 inches. They vary greatly in looks, but generally they lose many of their spots as they mature.

:iagree: Usually listed as orange spotted or mustard spotted pleco. can't be sure without a picture though.

Read over the OP's post carefully

" It really does look neat and I probably will grab one, but it looks similar to a regular sailfin despite the separations of spots (so it actually looks spotted, not all trippy like regular sailfins) and is sort of orange-like."

That's says it all.

Edit- josephjeon check this link. http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/image.php?species=pterygoplichthys+joselimaianus&image_id=7868
