live fish direct is great. they even have an "assorted" option where you can chose how many you want and they chose the best colored and a good variety. its a good way to go if you dont have any mix in mind. good luck

Thanks for the link . I found that they are $35 to $40 for male peacock. I'm sure they are colorfully and big. But a bit out of my range. Since i'm a newbie . Want to try out less expensive first. Won't hurt much if i lost a fish or two;)
But thank you so much for info:)

I disagree , it always hurts to loose a fish one is responsible for.
If you do your homework in advance this won't be an issue.
Learn the water quality needs and comptabilities of your stock choices.
Choose a tank /filtration setup compatable with those choices.
Learn and comprehend the Nitrogen Cycle.
Fishless Cycle your tank .It's foolproof
Last but not least , don't get in a hurry.

How big a tank are you considering ?

I was going to do this assorted option. With shipping for 12 fish it comes out to 66 bucks - for 12 2.5" fish. That's pretty good value. I was concerned they would only give you sicky hybrids, but it sounds like its a good deal.
