so i went for the stock change and am going to try and keep my argentea with the new angels (but will keep close eye on him and re-home at first sign of trouble) but yes so i ordered 6 wild caught scalare :headbang2:headbang2 2 are large and 4 or smaller, he said around 50 cent piece sizes and a school of wc bloodfin tetras and even a L-14 pleco which is gorgeous! I cant wait! just put in the order today so he is going to ship them tomorrow and i should have them by wednesday :)

just had one question, what temp should i keep them at? with my other cichlids i kept the tank around 80 should i bump it up to 84 or something for them or is 80 fine?

I think 80 would be fine, and congrats on getting your angels. I have only had mine for a little over 2 weeks and I love them.

Even my wife who claimed to hate angels is slowly being wooed by them. Every time she comes out of the fish room she makes a comment about how friendly and cute they are.

ok cool and yeah this will actually be my first time actually keeping angels but i have always liked them so im happy to finally be able to get some really nice ones, and they should grow nice and big in my tank :)

my angels came in this morning! :) and they look awesome, i have already acclimated them and they were already eating within an hour of going into the tank and are not shy at all :) the large ones are a good four inches in their body and the "smaller" ones are still a good 2in body length (without the tail) so so far so good :) my camera isnt working right now for some reason so i cant take pics but im going to try and find my charger and see if that is the problem and then i will post pics asap

what all do you guys feed your angels?

I feed mine Hikari Micro wafers, however yours sound like they are pretty big so you probably won't need the micro ones.

I also feed Hikari cichlid pellets you could smash up the one you already have or buy the small or baby sized pellets depending on what they can fit into their mouths. Peas, Omega one veggie flakes, and a couple of times a week frozen treats like mysis shrimp and such.

I pretty much feed mine almost the same diet I feed the rest of my cichlids.

Mine get a staple diet of bloodworms, plankton, Hikari cichlid excel, Omega one super color flakes, and tetra pro crisps. They will also get random other foods for treats.

thanks guys yeah sounds like i can pretty much feed them what i have i just have to break it up a bit smaller, im running low though so ill just make sure to get the smaller pellets when i go to re-stock, but yeah these guys are doing great and were already eating and everything :) i had to move the argentea to my hospital tank because he was being a bit aggressive and i wanted them to have a chance to settle in before having to deal with him so im gonna try and re add him in a week and see if that helps and if he is still being aggressive then i will sadly just have to re-home him and go with the green terror (may be getting a green severum from someone so that should go well with them as well)

one of my large angels was dead this morning :cry: he was acting normal yesterday and not acting stressed or anything what could have happened? i took out the argentea so nobody was picking on it :(

Sometimes W/C fish just don't make it in aquariums. Sounds like you did everything that you could have and the fish were healthy.

yeah all the others seem to be doing well and eating so hopefully i wont have anymore losses, i hate loosing fish for no reason, especially such a nice specimen he was a good 3in from his mouth to the base of his tail and had awesome trailers on his caudal fin and i think his ventral fins were as long as his entire body including trailers :irked: but the other ones are gorgeous as well and they all still have some growing to do, even the larger one i still have :)
