Are polypterus difficult to ship? I ordered some from an Amazon Seller on Amazon Japan and while they seem to of arrived quickly two of them were dead the third died. The second shipment which was a replacement shipment one of them showed up dead. Another one died and isolation but the third one because I had ordered three is still fine. So my question is this does this sound like I'm being shipped sick specimens, or am I just getting very unlucky? sidenote: the one that just died with the other who's still alive has been with me for less than 78hrs.

Polypterus are normally quite hardy when it comes to shipping, but since you are ordering from Japan, it may be a little different then.
I do have a few questions though.
What kind of Polypterus did you order, and how big were they?
How many days were they in shipping?

About 3 to 4 inches, so babies. I ordered lower jaws 'endlicheri', and they were in shipping at most 1~2days.

Hmm very strange. Normally Polypterus do just fine with 1-2 day shipping. I've had 2 18" + PBB stuck in shipping for 2 days in the cold arrive alive. You must have either gotten super unlucky, or you were just sent sick fish.

This is my assumption, becausr rn its warm where I am so temp can't be an issue unless shipping was keeping them in a fridge.

Sorry about the late reply, I got caught up in things. They were bagged together, the temp felt cold to me not ice cold, but even with heating the tank feels cold to me as well. The ones that do die were DoA. So far out of the six shipped to me in total, I have been able to keep one alive in isolation. I havent seen it eat yet, but i have been giving it food once at night after removing left over food. its been alive over a week so i assume it is at least eating something i throw in.

Thats weird, cause from what i know they are really hardy fish even with a bit of cold water. I had shipment with only few inches of water and still survive. I also had some with ammonia burn and still survive. Maybe they are a bad batch and was already sick to begin with.
