I have 2 questions, do you think this is over kill? do you think this is to much to pay should I shop around? Do you think I should use different media

Stocking list.
4 tanks (220,55,20,20)

220 will house my 5 bala sharks, 1 red tail shark, 1 paradise fish
55 Cichilds 1 oscar, 1 jack dempsy, 1 convict, 1 kenya, 1 other cichild.
20 15 neon tetras
20 2 rosy barbs

In additon to the 8 liters of porous media and 5 gallons of bioballs, I will also be using lava rocks and about another 1.5 liters of ceramic media from my current setup.

Here is my ruff calcuations

Ehfisubstrat 5 liters (they say 450 Gallons, i figure they mean 250 Gallons heavy bio load)

Bio-Glass 3 liters (I rough guess this to support 100 gallons of heavy bio load)

Bio-balls 5 Gallon ( They say this will support around 250 gallons, I figure 100 gallons heavy bio load)

I also figure the 1.5 liters of used media I have should support 50 gallons of heavy load.

So my rough guess is all of this media should support 500 gallons of heavy bio load.

I wounder if I am going over board here? or maybb I should even think about replacing the bio balls with another 5 liters of Ehfisubstrat and run a wet sump.

Each item number is a link to the discription.

Sounds like you have PLENTY of bio media. You should be fine.

Your filtering all 4 of the tanks with the one sump?

Is this a problem? I thought at first the 55 gallon might be to small for all 4 tanks, but I think I cant get it to flow close to 2 - 3k gph. The only thing I need to check is if it can hold all the water in a power outage, but there is no way to test this until its up. IT will be in the basement next to a floor drain just in case, If it does indeed overflow, I will build an overflow into it and have it drain into another tank.
