We have been getting more snow this year than probably the last 5. W/ mild winters, never worried about the order getting stuck in the weather or being held up because conditions are bad. Want to order from COTA next week but it looks like we are getting a little snow almost every day. Should I be worried and hold off?

Probably. It’s better safe than sorry. I had made an order before a snowstorm and it didn’t even ship for 2 weeks, and the one thing I wanted most wasn’t in stock anymore.

Thanks guys, that’s what I was thinking. Don’t want to risk losing the fish in transit.
I sold my F1 deppi and regani. Never had so many people interested in buying fish on Craigslist. Guessing has to do w/ both the weather and pandemic.

I would hold off, The Wet Spot is not even shipping East of the Rockies till further notice if that tells you anything.

I saw that. Was thinking of ordering more t. Pasionis but going to hold off on that one for sure.

It's always safer to wait, but if you're impatient like me I feel for ya. LOL

I've had 4 orders come to the house over the past few weeks from Florida to freezing cold Buffalo. One order got screwed up from FedEx, came 6 days later frozen solid. The replacements came FedEx 2 day and made it in just under 3 OK, but the water was very, very cold . I personally hate fedex. They're terrible in my area and seemingly keep their packages out doors over night. I made 'one last' order from them and just got it today. It was packed with extra insulation and 2 heat packs, but made it in just under 2 days by USPS priority mail, so everything was still toasty warm. I have much better luck with USPS for what ever reason.

I would wait. The last few winters I’ve chanced it, both UPS and FedEx delayed boxes by a day and the fish showed up frozen. The UPS one wasn’t even due to weather, it was equipment failure, but sitting in a warehouse overnight still killed them.

Ugh that sucks, sorry that happened. Shipping w/ the pandemic sucks as is too. Everything is slow even in decent weather.
