ordering from TUIC?

A few times I received fish a little smaller than advertised but honestly, I've never been disappointed with a Rapps fish. If you want a rare cichlid and can't find it at your lfs, I'd highly recommend TUIC mail order.
Everything I have ordered has been pretty close. Never more then a half inch off. I've not had an order from Jeff that I wasn't satified with.
You need to understand that when he says a given fish is 2", that means MOST of the 200 fish he has are approximately 2". By the time he gets to the end of a spawn, he may have a greater number of smaller fish left (especially when people are trying to get him to pick put males, which at that size are usually just guesses and the larger fish).
I guarantee you he isn't putting the fish on a ruler, but if you're buying from him it's because you're willing to pay for quality, not exact size.
I always ask for a mix of sizes in an effort to get some females.

And yes, you can't expect any fish seller to pull out the ruler/tape on every single fish they sell. As long as they are not noticeably too small, then it's not much of an issue. Being healthy at the end of the whole shipping ordeal is much more important. Or at least IMO.
My experience has been that the overall buying experience from him is about the same as it is for other vendors. No vendor is perfect.
