I just moved down this way (Woodburn). Looking for some stores with good freshwater selection. I've only been to the Wet Spot in Portland.

Feel free to list any you know of from Salem to Portland.

Salem used to have four good independent fish stores, now there is nothing but Petco and Petsmart. :irked:

Woodburn used to have the coolest super-funky fish store, but Roney retired from the business over ten years ago. :(

I've been to the Wet Spot a few times, but I don't really care for the owner after he got all mad at me for taking a picture of a fish. He had a little sign behind the counter saying no photos that I totally missed... :screwy:

I haven't tried the World of Wet Pets, but I have heard that it is pretty cool.

These days I get most of my fish from the Animal House in Corvallis, awesome place, but kind of spendy and a long drive from Woodburn.

It would be interesting to see if there are any decent stores in the Mid-Valley area!

Thanks for the info. Really sad to see the mom and pop's all going out of business.

So not much down this way eh? Guess I'll just have to mapquest a bunch of the tropical fish/pet stores down here and go adventure.

I saw the sign at the Wet spot that says no photos, found it pretty funny.

Cayes is a good place. Nice people but not a ton of rarer fish. More so the common ones you see at Petco but they have a nice selection of salties to and are more then happy to do custom orders.

The Wet Spot and World of Wet Pets are the only two you'll consistantly find good fish at...seems like the rest are all dependant on whether anything good has been traded in.

some others are...

Animal House...Oregon City
Pet-n-Pond...Clackamas
Cayes...Portland, off Division
Family Pet...Portland...off Halsey
A to Z...Portland, off Division
