Hey guys, I have been doing some searching and have found no further information, so Im turning to the pros!

Long time puffer keeper thinking about FW sting rays... I was speaking to a group about my ambitions and some guy had a blast raining on my parade. Comvo is as follows:

Me: I'm going to take the plunge! I found the ray, and it's even a "rescue" from a lady who can't properly care for it. ❤️ Can't beat a double win, the sting gets a loving home, and I get to enjoy a ray for the first time!!!

Him: well you better get on it sugar lips, new ban on rays hitting Oregon on weds (5/31) will make them pretty much unavailable on the W coast bc they aren't even allowed to pass thru the state! The ones you will find are going to be house payment expensive, so get it shipped asap.

(Random person chimes in): hey stupid, that laws about the drone program... the call it stingray! It's called a newspaper Man, now leave the female alone!

Me: what!?!?! I'm confused, so is this a joke guys?

Him: it's real, look it up. And BTW, I was talking to the OP not you dude. Newspaper, what's that? It's called the internet man, and if you used it you would see what I'm talking about is fish not national security...

So as you can see, no one actually helped me with anything! So, is this real? I researched and could find nothing on banning stingrays in Oregon state, but that doesn't mean it's not true.

Any input?

Not to rain on your parade (especially if you have a large tank).
I was at a talk by one of the foremost experts in keeping rays (can't remember her name, but she is curator of rays, at a large aquarium in Canada), who said to keep even the smallest of rays properly, a minimum of a 300 gl tank should be available.

Thank you for the heads, your not raining on my parade- I don't want to keep something I can't care for well.

TBH, I didn't know that. I was looking at a 150gal, and I don't think I can go any bigger due to space only being available on my 2nd floor. I'm going to have to rethink this....

I'm off to look at other cool rarities that I can stock happily at the 150g size point.
