ive never been able to understand how some people can eat their own pets. even if some people eat that species, it was still at one point your very own pet and you did raise it. to me that would be like eating a dog. but thats just IMO...

Nile tilapia were one of my first introductions to cichlids. Really cool fish, I suggest someone take this guy off the OP's hands.

I ate a sunfish that I kept after it grew too large. Yeah, it's a bit f'd up. I also may have had a couple before making the decision to make dinner.

Id take it unfortunately my car is in the shop , btw we buy tilapia all the time in the market and its great eating but would never eat a pet fish.

I was just saying if he can't find a taker then eat it. Yeah I would never eat one of my pet fish but if it was Niloticus I would be more willing to eat it because they are good.
