Oreochromis Tanganicae-provide me some first hand info

I am thinking about getting one of these from LFS. He is prob 10inches+.
What are your real life experiences? I have read the little info that is out there...just wondering what your experiences have been?

The Tanganyican Tilapia.I had one before,purchased it at silver dollar coin size and it lived for about eight years before it died.It was well over a foot in length and the blue coloring gets very beautiful as it gets bigger.Mine ate flakes and floating pellets and was the boss of the tank.It would chase away the other fish away from the floating pellets and would take it's time eating them.
