Is there any serious risk of feeding with conventionally grown veggies (pesticides, herbicides, etc)? Organic zuchinni is not always readily available (tends to be more seasonal), plus it's more expensive. Is washing the skin of the veggie with water enough? I boil/blanche my veggies so they will sink, plus my plecs prefer them that way; does the heat help destroy or neutralize any pesticides from a conventionally grown vegetable? Do other folks use special soap in washing their veggies for their plecs?
