So just today literally just for the first time I seen my lil orino (roughly5-6") flare up and go after my kelb (roughly 8-9"). They have been together for at least a month did have a problem before. There are also 2 wild oscars with them as well that they get along with fine. I know pbass can be aggressive that's why I got rid of my tem it started picking on my kelb. Just wanted to share just thought it was Intersting that just like that how quick their attitudes can change!

Part of the juvi's behavior. They will grow out of it. Orino's are bad, But kelberi's are worse....well at lease the wild kels are.

My 13" Orino flares at my 17" Azul and 16" Kel ALL the time, but the Azul rules the tank. It even punks my IT Dat onto the other side of the tank....Orinos by far are the most "aggressive" cichla Ive kept to date. However, i wouldnt consider cichla to be aggressive but rather aggressive eaters. My Umbee and Jag had HUGE attitude problems and attacked everything...

If they didn't flair and nip they wouldn't be as fun to keep. Sounds like you need one more to spread the rough play.

Yea its def fun watchin the orino chase the bigger kelb! Funny thing is when I first got the kelb it ruled the tank and didn't let anyone mess wit it. Since the tem started picking on it changed 180. I do have another cichla I want to put with them put its only 2.5" don't want it to be food for the others!
